Coming Apart

I’m posting tonight because Jen and I have big day tomorrow. We’re going on a date! Our first since my surgery. The girls have a concert at school in the morning then Jen and I are heading to Lancaster for the day (she’ll do the driving, of course). With everything that’s been going on, we need the time away and alone.

There’s a saying that goes: Come apart, lest you come apart. Wise words. At times lately, both Jen and I have felt like we were ready to come apart, for me, sometimes literally. There’s a lot going on in our lives and a lot of different things pulling us in different directions. Talk about feeling like a nut.

We need time apart. Apart from doctors and tests and consultations. Apart from phone calls. Apart from housework. Apart from this computer. Just . . . apart.

Also, I won’t be posting Thursday because I’ll have an early morning. Surgery to insert my port is 7:30 am which means I’ll have to be at the surgical center much earlier than that.

So, until Friday . . .
