January, Come Quickly

My appointment with the surgeon went well yesterday. My questions were answered by him with the utmost of confidence. If you’ve ever had any kind of surgery, ever notice how surgeon’s are some of the most confident people you’ll ever meet? They have to be. I don’t want to ask my surgeon if he’s totally comfortable performing such-and-such a procedure and have him say, “Well, it’s not my favorite thing to do and I usually do a good job of it, so I’m pretty sure I can wing it this time and things will work out.”

I’d be finding another surgeon. A confident one.

Surgery to reverse the ostomy will be first thing in January. Can’t get here soon enough.

Now, in book news. Scream is slated to come out in March of 2009 so I’m busy gathering endorsements. I’m very passionate about the theme behind the story, an evangelistic theme, and want the book to be used in ways to help share the gospel message. And I wanted the endorsements to reflect that as well. Sooo, I contacted Dr. Larry Moyer of EvanTell and asked him if he’d be willing to read the manuscript and possibly give an endorsement blurb. He was very gracious to do so and below is what he sent me:

“Mike’s writing is full of suspense. Once you’ve started his book, it’s hard to put it down. More importantly, there is a truth that comes through loudly and clearly. Heaven and hell are real. In light of the brevity of life, the time to tell people about Christ is not tomorrow; it’s today. Scream reminds each believer of the need to reach out–NOW!”
Dr. Larry Moyer, President and CEO, EvanTell

Dr. Moyer captured the heart of the story beautifully. I hope that whets your appetite a little for this next book of mine. It’s a real . . . scream.
