Celebrating Three Years of Victory

This month marks me as three years a cancer survivor. Three years of staying out of reach of that monster’s spidery fingers.

Every March I tend to reflect on that nine-month battle, the ups and downs, the lessons learned, tears shed, and strength gained.

Recently, I began jotting down some of my experiences and thoughts regarding my journey through cancer and I’d like to share them with you. So periodically throughout this month I’ll be posting them here on this blog along with some snippets of thoughts I posted while trudging through that valley.

My hope is that you will direct others impacted by cancer to the posts so we will all know we’re not alone, others have battled the same beast, wrestled with the same doubts, cried the same tears, petitioned the same God. Maybe my experience will resonate with someone else, maybe they’ll find some empathy, some encouragement. Maybe we can be a blessing to each other.

Stay tuned . . .

  1. Great idea, Mike. I’ll be sure to share this friends who are readers and writers.

  2. I think this is a GREAT idea Mike. Personally, I do not have cancer. However, I feel as if I do because I do have to survive each and every year with my mental illness. I am VERY fortunate to only take just two medications. Anyway, I feel your empathy and strength that you display. When I’m in a valley, I cling to my faith. Still to this day, I think of the anniversary date of when I have had my mental illness. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you and others. Stay strong, especially in the valleys Mike 🙂
