An Open Letter to My Readers

Some of you have asked if everything is okay because I’ve been rather invisible on the social networking stuff lately. Yes, I’m fine. I was at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writer’s Conference last week and very busy with teaching and meeting with other writers. I don’t think I’ve ever talked as much as I did last week. My voice was hoarse by the week’s end. And besides all that, the views were stunning.

I have two deadlines loooming. One, by the end of this week I want to be finished the edits of my next book, Frantic. You’re going to love the characters who populate this book. And I tried something new this time and set the story in Maine, a favorite place of ours to visit.

The other deadline is my next book after Frantic, as yet untitled, due in October. This book scares me to death, not because it’s a scary story, goodness no, but because it’s so far outside my current box I have no idea how it’s going to go. I can’t tell you much about it, and in fact won’t be saying much about it until the release date (October, 20120) but trust me when I say it’s something totally new, different, fresh, and has got me both excited and terrified.

All that to say, I need to get started on it and stay plugged in until the end. So that means I need to take a hiatus of sorts from the social media stuff until this story is at least well-underway. So if you don’t hear from me please don’t think anything is wrong, don’t think I’ve slipped into a parallel universe or fell off the edge of the earth. I’m here, hunched over my keyboard, tapping away, creating a story that will thrill your senses and tear at your heart. Hopefully, I’ll emerge from this experience a more confident writer. I’d sure appreciate your prayers.

I’ll try to post here when I can and will try my hardest to stay in touch via my Facebook author page. If you haven’t connected with me yet on Facebook, please go to my author page and “Like” it. You’ll find updates and all kinds of cool stuff there.

Glad to hear you’re well, Mike. I heard from Deb Raney about Blue Ridge. I should have thought of that. That center is only about 2 hours from me, so I know the views are indeed glorious. I wish you continued success with your writing and many new ideas.

Mike I have read almost all of your books and I am really looking forward to Frantic. I am from NC and my husband is from Maine. We lived in Maine for 13 years so I am sure I have probably ran into some of your “characters”. You continue to write books that make us “think”. I am going on a Mission trip to Kenya, Africa in November and I believe this will be one of my traveling books! God bless you!
