Beautiful and meaningful on so many levels–what freedom cost; how precious moments with family are; after war the landscape can be beautiful again. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Great pictures !!! Love Gettysburg !!! I lived there on Seminary Ridge for two years while my mom went to Seminary. My brother used to pack lunch early on a Summer morning and ride our bikes all day stopping for lunch at Devil’s Den or Little Round Top. My husband’s family owned a house there that was taken over by soldiers. It still bears his family’s name ( our last name though spelled differently ) — Sherfy( Sherfey ). We had a family reunion a few years ago and were allowed in the Sherfy House for a tour. A man from the Discovery Channel did a story on the reunion and history of our family!!!
By the way, your family is BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!

Your wife takes wonderful photos. My middle son just informed me yesterday that his favorite place to travel is Gettysburg. We may be taking another trip there sometime this fall.
